PDF forms
Support for the deprecated XFA forms in PDF files has ended. The functions Fill PDF Form and Read PDF Form support only the Acroforms (Acrobat forms). The existing form templates must therefore be checked and, if necessary, converted using a suitable program. If the system activity processes PDF files with XFA fields, from now on these steps will be set to error status.

PDF forms
The support of XFA forms in PDF files is deprecated and will be removed in JobRouter version 2023.1. After that, the functions Fill PDF form and Read PDF form only support the Acroforms (Acrobat forms). The existing form templates must therefore be checked in time and converted with a suitable program if necessary. If PDF files with XFA fields are processed by the system activity, corresponding warnings will be issued in the JobActivity JobPDF log from now on.

PDF creation
The function group PDF creation (create PDF files from XML templates) was marked as deprecated in version 4.1 and has been now removed. Creation of PDF files is still possible with the Fill Word template function.
Changes in version 5.0
Export of a PDF file
The new function Export PDF is now available. With this function the following actions can be performed:
•merge and export a PDF file from a process table with annotations
•convert a file from the process table into PDF format, optionally also merge and export it with annotations
•amalgamate single PDF files from a subtable to one PDF file, optionally also merge and export it with annotations
•convert single files from the subtable into PDF format, optionally merge and export it with annotations.
Word templates
In the JobPDF system action only templates with merge fields are listed and can be chosen.
Changes in version 4.3
Sign PDF files
A new function Sign PDF files is available in the configuration of system action JobPDF. This allows PDF files to be provided with a certificate-based digital signature.
Replace invalid characters in file names
As of version 4.3.9 characters that are not allowed in file names are replaced by underscores for the output file names in functions Fill Word template and Fill out PDF form.
Changes in version 4.2
Alternative Document in "Fill Word template" function
An alternative document can be configured in this function. It will be used instead of the chosen Word template for the PDF creation.
Changes in version 4.1
The function group PDF creation (create PDF file from XML templates) is now marked as outdated and will be deleted in version 4.3. Furthermore, to create PDF files, the function group Fill Word template must be used.
Changes in version 3.9
From JobRouter version 3.9.0 on, the new function group Fill Word templates is available. Microsoft Word files can be used as template files, only Microsoft Word is required to create them. Data from processes can easily be added into form letter elements. Next to simple text elements, it is even possible to add images or fill entire tables.
The Word template can be attached to a process using a global or process configuration and subsequently be used and configured in a JobPDF system activity. There, the process and subtable fields are easily linked to the form letter elements. The process designer can even decide if he wants to receive the output file as a Word or PDF file.
Changes in version 3.8
From JobRouter 3.8.4 on, the new option Convert input fields into text is available in the Input Parameters of the function Fill out PDF form.
Please note: This option is only intended for form fields of the type AcroForms.
