It is possible to access external databank system in JobRouter using database connections. You can define them globally or individually. When you establish global links in the JobRouter Preferences, they are available to all processes (see the JobRouter Administration Manual). Otherwise the link is for the current Process.
It is possible to create any number of database connections for different database systems. The currently supported database systems are Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL respectively MariaDB and Oracle. In the cloud, another connection type "Remote DB" is also available. Additionally, nearly any ODBC-compliant data source can be accessed using the ODBC interface.
You may wish to access an external database from a form in order to display certain data. rules let you insert or change data in your process from an external system. If you define the access in the forms or rules, you can choose a link to use each time.
